New Mobile App Updates

Hey community members! There’s some exciting updates rolling out today to the mobile app:

What’s New? 🚀

  • @Mentions: You can now use @mention directly in ticket comments! It will help you quickly get a tech’s attention, leading to faster ticket resolution.

Other Fixes:

  • Authentication Fix: Resolved an issue that was preventing a small number of accounts from authenticating.

  • Timer Entry Fix: Fixed a bug that prevented some timer entries from saving correctly.

  • No More Character Limit: The 250-character limit on ticket comments has been removed!

The updates have been published and will show up as available downloads for Mobile App users.

If you have any questions for our team, let one of our admins know! Thanks everyone and hope you have a great rest of your week.

Whenever I open my Syncro app i am not being prompted for any sort of credentials or biometrics. I had to turn this on manually in the settings.
What if my techs don’t do this and their phone is compromised? Shouldn’t these sorts of security measures be a default?
It’s like that incident of 2FA not being turned on across the board for Repairshopr a few months back so as not to annoy old school users or something, then they had their accounts compromised.

When it comes to security Syncro needs to be building with this foremost in mind. Our customer data is really, REALLY important to both them and us by extension - you guys need to be doing everything you can to make sure that the default settings of your applications are protecting both them and us.

Also shouldn’t you have a team dedicated to this sort of stuff that are actively looking for these vulnerabilities?

Exciting would be basic feature parity with the old app.

How’s the Customers tab coming?

is there a way to change the billing on the timer? Looks like it uses your default timer.

I’m having an issue with the new app sending out emails. I select the Send Email checkbox but it just adds it as a public note. This happens on all tickets.

Anybody else having issues with no notifications on the app on IOS? We don’t get them on any of our IOS devices. I can still get them through the old app. I turned in a ticket and it has been turned over to engineering. Was wondering if we were the only ones.

From day one, in iOS at least, chats don’t update at all until you manually refresh the page. Thus don’t do notifications. (Chats updating was the only feature I wanted from the app.)

Engineering has apparently just started work on that — if I understand the update I got.

I don’t use the app, so don’t know about any other notifications.

Do you have them turned on as push notifications in the Notification Center of your Syncro instance?

Not sure what you are referring to here.

Yes. The notifications are turned on in both Syncro admin and on the phone. I am using the old app to get notifications, but there is no notification sound. They do show up under my notifications that way and then I can go to my browser on the phone to utilize the Syncro platform.

Ok in that case I’d reach out to support and open a ticket if you haven’t already. They are working okay for me when I tested just now.

Thank you. I have and it was sent up to engineering.
