Scheduled Maintenace - Feedback from Australia

I understand the majority of Syncro’s client base is likely to be located in USA, however, for everyone in APAC, today was a bit of a nightmare with Syncro. Obviously something didn’t go according to plan with today’s maintenance and the whole system was inaccessible for almost three hours rather than the advertised one.
I’m sure all of us here have had a maintenance job blow out of scope ourselves, I just hope the maintenance and support team learn from this and schedule their maintenance for weekends in future (also advertising upcoming maintenance in the banner/news in Syncro itself wouldn’t hurt)

Just my two cents

Totally Agree, even if they moved the maintenance windows 5hrs later if weekends are not doable. This would make things much easier on us.

The other thing i have found is the platform is running a fair bit slower now

Completely agree that this scheduled downtime was absolutely terrible. While I understand that APAC is probably the lower group of customers using Syncro scheduling maintenance for the middle of the day in the middle of the week just isn’t acceptable. To add to that clearly something went wrong causing a 3h outage and bringing our entire team to a standstill.

To makes things even worse, couldn’t even log into the support community because that as it turns out is all tied into the same systems that went down for maintenance.

Pretty poor form.

Thank you for taking the time to respond and acknowledging the disruption. It is a relief to see this has been taken seriously and that steps will be taken to prevent this in the future.

We believe that all system functions have now returned to normal. Please see the latest update/s here:

Support’s answer as to why this occurred on a weekday wasn’t satisfactory at all. The moment maintenance is scheduled during our work day again we’ll jump ship.

Very understandable, we do not want scheduled maintenance in the future to impact workdays. For this reason, we will not be scheduling updates during such times going forward.

totally agree, we learned a lesson here and have committed to no longer run planned maintenance on weekdays.
