New Features
1) Microsoft 365 License Billing: Automated Invoicing
Syncro is expanding its Universal Billing engine to include direct integration with your synced Microsoft licenses. This feature streamlines the invoicing process by automatically syncing license counts to your recurring invoices, ensuring you never miss a billable seat.
Core Billing Automation Capabilities:
- Real-Time License Sync: Automatically detects Microsoft 365 license changes, such as adding or removing seats, and adjusts the next recurring invoice accordingly.
- Flexible Quantity Options: Choose to bill based on total licenses owned or only those currently consumed by active users.
- Revenue Recovery: Eliminates the need for manual reconciliation, reducing administrative overhead and billing errors.
- Customized Client Pricing: Set unique per-license rates for individual clients directly within their recurring invoice settings.
2) Entra ID: Total Visibility & Control
We’ve introduced a new Entra ID Dashboard and On-Demand backup capabilities to ensure your identity data is protected, providing the data you need to prove client protection at a glance.
Core Identity Protection Capabilities:
- Centralized Object Dashboard: Categorize Entra ID objects (Users, Groups, Roles, Policies) into actionable groups with exact object counts.
- Real-Time Backup Transparency: View the timestamp of the most recent backup for every category instantly to eliminate guesswork.
- On-Demand Snapshots: Trigger a manual backup of Entra ID objects before pushing major policy changes or reconfiguring memberships.
- Outage Risk Mitigation: Create a “clean” state to return to if configuration errors or sync issues occur during active directory maintenance.
3) Syncro Cloud Backup: Performance and Granular Recovery
We are continuing to optimize our backup engine to ensure the fastest possible Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and more precise data restoration for your clients.
Backup Optimization Highlights:
- Accelerated Email Restores: Optimized large attachment handling by migrating from legacy EWS to the modern Microsoft Graph API for superior performance and scalability.
- Reduced RTO: Experience significantly faster recovery times for attachment-heavy mailboxes, getting end-users back to work sooner.
- Granular Contact Version History: View the full version history for individual contacts to compare and restore specific previous states.
- Data Loss Prevention: Protect against accidental overwrites or sync errors by restoring precise contact versions rather than entire datasets.
4) Universal Billing for Assets & End-Users
We’ve enhanced legacy recurring invoices with new threshold-based billing logic, bringing them in line with our Universal Billing framework. We have updated our legacy counters, including Assets, End Users, and Remote Access End Users, to include the sophisticated threshold logic found in our newer Universal Billing modules. This allows you to automate all-you-can-eat plans that include a specific seat allowance.
Key Threshold Logic Features:
- Automated Overage Calculations: Use the new “Only Bill for Units Above This Amount” field to automatically subtract included units from the total count.
- Proof of Value Reporting: Enable the “Include Line Item on Invoice When No Charge Occurs” toggle to show clients exactly what you are managing (e.g., 50 assets) even if they are only billed for overages.
- Billing Consistency: Bridges the gap between how Microsoft 365 licenses and legacy asset counters are handled within the same platform.
5) Device Patching Details in Report Builders
Syncro has enhanced its custom report builders to include granular Windows patching data for all managed assets. This update allows you to generate high-impact compliance reports that prove the value of your security services to stakeholders.
Core Reporting Capabilities:
- Granular Patch Visibility: Include specific Windows patch names and installation dates directly in your custom asset reports.
- Patch Status Tracking: Easily view the current status (Installed, Missing, or Failed) for every managed device in your inventory.
- Proactive Security Evidence: Use these metrics during quarterly business reviews to demonstrate proactive asset management and adherence to security standards.
- Customizable Compliance Views: Tailor your reports to show exactly the data points required for specific industry audits or client compliance scenarios.
6) Syncro Mobile: Find Assets Faster with End User Integration
To make on-site support more seamless, we’ve updated the Syncro Mobile App to bridge the gap between your clients and their devices. Technicians can now identify hardware by the person using it, rather than just an Asset Tag or Serial Number.
Mobile Tracking Enhancements:
- Search by End User: Type a client’s name into the mobile Asset search bar to instantly see every device assigned to them.
- Assigned User on Asset Details: View the “Assigned End User” field directly on the Asset Detail page to confirm you are working on the correct machine.
- Field Efficiency: Locate hardware in seconds without needing to cross-reference contact records in the web UI.
7) Microsoft 365 Baseline Expansion: CIS Rule Hardening (Early Access)
Syncro is democratizing enterprise-grade security by integrating automatable assessment rules from the CIS Microsoft 365 Foundations Benchmark v6.0.0 (IG1) directly into our Baselines module.
With this update, you can effortlessly maintain security compliance, strengthen cyber insurance readiness, and showcase measurable value to clients right from the onboarding phase. This eliminates the struggle of manual auditing and acts as a built-in, “set and forget” baseline, flagging deviations without the need for third-party tools.
Security Hardening Capabilities:
- Critical Security Settings: Deploy an automated assessment of 52 security settings to all client tenants to identify vulnerabilities instantly.
- Continuous Compliance Monitoring: Automatically flag deviations from CIS best practices, ensuring global admin MFA and mailbox auditing remain compliant.
- Drift Prevention: Receive notifications in Syncro if a client user disables a mandatory security setting, allowing for immediate remediation.
Quality of Life Updates
We’ve implemented a series of stability, performance, and quality of life improvements based directly on partner feedback:
Invoices & Billing
- Universal Billing now supports Bill-For-Units functionality for Asset, Customer Contact, and Remote Access Contact line items under Legacy Counter Thresholds.
- The Estimate Index now includes additional columns to support sorting by Estimate Status and Invoice State.
- Smart Search now returns invoice numbers containing letters when using “Search All Things.”
Tickets & Automation
- The new Ticket page now loads and expands large ticket groupings more efficiently.
- When merging tickets, child tickets now migrate automatically to the new parent ticket, and replies route correctly to the communication history.
- The “A Ticket Was Assigned To You” email notification now places the ticket link at the top for quicker access.
Reports
- The Sales Summary by Customer report now includes pagination to improve performance with large data sets.
Mobile App
- The Appointment create and update flow now features an improved Date Selector for smoother scheduling.
- Tickets now refresh correctly after worksheet creation or deletion.
