:megaphone: What’s New

Microsoft 365 Baseline Expansion: CIS-Aligned Hardening

This update expands Syncro Microsoft 365 management by integrating all automatable assessment rules from the CIS Microsoft 365 Foundations Benchmark v6.0.0 (IG1). The feature eliminates the need for third-party M365 security assessment tools by providing a built-in, “set and forget” baseline that automatically flags deviations from CIS best practices.

Core Capabilities:

  • Continuous Compliance Monitoring: Automated assessments run twice daily to flag deviations from CIS best practices.
  • Drift Prevention Alerts: Receive notifications if a client user disables mandatory security settings, such as Global Admin MFA.
  • Cyber Insurance Readiness: Instantly generate current state reports to identify security gaps that could impact insurance premiums.

Ticket View Enhancements

This month’s updates focus on adding extensibility to Ticket Views, including the ability to export views directly to CSV, and new filter options for views that focus on key ticket milestones.

Core Capabilities:

  • Customizable CSV Exports: Export a Ticket View with your exact custom columns and filters applied, including Custom Fields.
  • Ticket Milestone Date Ranges: Gain deeper insights into your team’s performance by filtering Ticket Views by key milestones—like created, resolved, or due dates—across specific timeframes.

IP Allowlist Nicknames & Management

We are transforming the IP Allow List from a static list of strings into a managed security directory. By introducing an optional Nickname field and Inline Editing, we admins can now conduct 5-minute security audits with total confidence.

Syncro Cloud Backup

  • File permission restore for SharePoint and OneDrive: Restores now include file permissions. When you restore files from SharePoint or OneDrive, the original permission settings are preserved on the restored content.
  • Sticky note backup for Exchange: Exchange backups now capture sticky notes. These items are included in standard backup runs and can be restored alongside other Exchange content.

:orange_heart: Quality of Life Updates

We’ve implemented several performance and UI enhancements based on your feedback:

API

  • The all_comments parameter on the Tickets API now defaults to returning only the initial comment when not specified, improving performance. The Ticket Comments endpoint remains the recommended method for retrieving full comment history.
  • Invoice Due Dates can now be updated reliably via API.
  • Tickets API queries now respect all provided parameters when used with the query option.

Assets

  • Remote access policies now include granular session notification controls for Syncro Remote with Splashtop, supporting configurable popups, banners, or both across Windows, Mac, and Linux devices.
  • Mac Agent monitoring has been improved to reduce false offline alerts and provide more accurate uptime reporting.
  • Users with broadcast permissions in Security Groups for Select Customers can now target messages to all assets within a Customer Organization or to assets within a Saved Asset Search.
  • Non-Global Admin users can now clear RMM alerts as expected.
  • SNMP device alerts now trigger correctly when devices remain offline beyond the configured policy threshold.

Customer Organizations

  • Customer Organization Tag permissions now apply correctly for users without requiring additional unrelated permissions.

End User Portal

  • Ticket comments in the Customer Portal now support pasting content reliably.

Invoices

  • Bundles added to invoices now retain associated ticket details.
  • Invoice bundles now display in the correct order.
  • Recurring invoice line items now apply as expected without validation conflicts.
  • Payments now import from Xero more consistently.

Mobile App

  • Search within the mobile app now returns results more reliably.

Reports

  • Executive Summary reports now generate PDF files successfully.
  • The Ticket Time by Technician (Tech Hours) report now includes an additional CSV column.
  • Printing reports using standard browser print (Ctrl+P) now includes the full report as expected.
  • Antivirus Coverage visual blocks in Report Builder now generate successfully when customers have Syncro Device Assets without Managed Antivirus enabled.

Tickets

  • Real-time “Ticket Status Changed” automations now support the Resolved status, enabling immediate execution of end-of-ticket workflows such as CSAT surveys and follow-up actions.
  • Assignee and Subscriber selection now displays only relevant co-managed users based on permission group assignments.
  • Ticket automations configured to unassign technicians now execute as expected.
  • Secret (Encrypted) Ticket Custom Field values are now accessible directly from the Ticket Details page.
  • SLA-based “Re-Assign to Tech if Breached” actions now trigger correctly.

Other

  • Search All Things performance has been improved to reduce timeouts.
  • Users in Security Groups for Select Customers can now search Assets and use Search All Things without encountering timeouts.
  • Database exports now complete more reliably without timing out.
  • Store Credit messages with line breaks now process correctly without errors.

:automobile: Roadmap Updates

Beyond this month’s release, we are actively developing:

  • Syncro Payments (Powered by Stripe) Early Access: Expanding payment processing options with direct Stripe ACH integration.
  • Parent/Child Tickets - Ticket Blueprints (Early Access): Enabling users to pre-configure essential ticket attributes (e.g., subject, priority, attached worksheets) to standardize the ticket creation process. EA for Ticket Blueprints will be starting in late April.
  • Script Execution Audit Logging (Early Access): Providing a centralized record of all script activity across the inventory.
  • Per-Asset Portal Access (Early Access): Per-Asset Portal Access lets you give end users remote access to exactly the devices they need, without opening up visibility to your entire fleet.

Yes!! It’s about time there’s an alternative to the Worldpay crooks!!

Any idea when Syncro Payments (Powered by Stripe) will be launching? I signed up for the early preview. I was just checking my Worldpay statements and I processed around 4K last month, and they took $550 in fees. That’s robbery!

Summary

This text will be hidden

Yeah I reached out to a contact there and this was their response. Total BS.

This fee is to help cover the growing costs involved in keeping our processing systems up to date. That includes meeting regulatory and network requirements, maintaining security standards, and making sure our systems continue to support your customer transactions smoothly at the point of sale. Even if you integrated with Worldpay in the past, there are ongoing costs to ensure your integration continues to work smoothly after updates, maintenance, and required changes. Please note that is NOT a monthly fee. If needed, you can find the communication of this fee on your January processing statement.

It makes me sick to my stomach how they take advantage of people!!

I gotta ask. I want to run away from worldpay so bad. However last time I mentioned this to you guys, you only had the ability to flip it like a light switch, meaning I have to contact 100+ businesses to reacquire their payment information. Is there a method where we can have both worldpay and this new method enabled at the same time, and we can enter any new payment methods given to us into the new stripe method so we can gracefully exit worldpay?

Thank you.

Hey Greg, that’s a good question. So only one payment gateway can be enabled at a time. There will be a toggle to enable and disable Syncro Payments if for some reason you need to temporarily enable a different gateway.

Unfortunately that’s not going to work for us. We currently have invoices that process every day of the month. It would make no sense to turn one off and turn the other on and go back and forth every single day like that. Can you guys please work out some kind of method. Honestly the best method would be if you had some kind of way to import all our payment methods to the new stripe solution. Second best would be like I mentioned, allow both to be on so we could gracefully add new payment methods to stripe.

@greg3 This was my exact question at yesterday’s release webinar. Unfortunately, I was told the same thing — it’s all-or-nothing at the flip of a switch. Seriously?

I’ve been extremely excited to have a Stripe ACH option, but the fact that we’re somehow supposed to instantly (and manually) update every client’s payment method is absolutely laughable. The only thing worse would be the impact of forcing each client to login and provide payment info (that they’ve already supplied before) and they must do so “immediately.”

I’m a reasonable person, but for this to be a viable payment option for us, there must be a reliable way to enable both the current and new payment system while we work to transition clients. I’m willing to discuss ideas and options all day, but cannot risk the backlash from messing up client payments.

It is my sincere hope that Syncro reconsiders this all-or-nothing, instant approach and works toward a more feasible transition option for those of us who already accept payments within Syncro.

I made this request something like 10 years ago within my first year of worldpay. I’ve made it several times since. The syncro staff (((seem))) to be more open to our ideas this year. Maybe theres hope?

I can hope at least…. Don’t let us down this year Syncro. (Or this quarter? )

They could easily program the logic “If payment method 2 is enabled, don’t allow adding new payment methods of payment method 1, if customer profile already has either payment method, process via that route of whichever payment method it is”.
