The “Beta” tag went away on the asset page.
Let’s hope the beta tag being gone is the sign we’ve been waiting for!
It’s definitely a sign something is happening :). Almost there…
It’s been released! I just installed a new agent and Splashtop installed as well.
It’s finally here! Great job @Andy and team!
Enjoying it so far on my lab and no problems here!
Nope hopefully the memes will end lol.
Getting this on trying to connect using the Remote Access button on the asset. Is this because Splashtop is not installed yet, or do we actually have to make changes to the settings?
This is normal and how Apple works. We can’t set permissions for other apps. So for example, any RMM deploying a third-party remote access tool wouldn’t be able to set those permissions automatically. To automate that you’d look at deploying this via an MDM.
I had the previous beta Mac agent installed on my Macbook Pro (Intel) and removed both the Splashtop Streamer and the Agent (using the uninstall command), rebooted, and reinstalled. The Remote access option is enabled in the policy but unfortunately the Splashtop Streamer has not reinstalled itself.
Is there a way to do that manually, or does it take longer than Windows agents to install?
I would try and disable it from the policy, and then enable it again a few minutes later and see if that helps. It’s possible ST wasn’t removed cleanly and that is causing an issue.
Trying that now. Will update once I see what happens.
Can we create deploy a script after this RMM is installed to allow Splashtop permissions?
@Andy Reinstalled the Agent, Allowed all permissions on the lab Mac which is running Big Sur and still getting the “This asset is missing the required permissions” any idea’s?
Did you assign the permissions specifically for Splashtop as described in the image in the original post?
Yeah, indeed I have good sir.
Having this issue. I installed the mac agent just yesterday and enabled everything, but I get that KB prompt after temporarily disabling splashtop via policy and removing and reinstalling the agent. I removed it via the asset page.
Do we have a mac version of the UUID removal tool?
Ok, disabled and re-enabled and unfortunately, Splashtop Streamer has not been reinstalled. Crud…
I think it’s on the 2 hour sync for Splashtop installs. Might just have to wait it out. I don’t know if this will be of any use for anyone having permission issues with the RMM version, but it’s what we followed for the BYO. https://support-splashtopbusiness.splashtop.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035055131-MacOS-10-15-Catalina-11-Big-Sur-additional-Security-and-Privacy-requirements-for-Mac-Streamer-and-Mac-Business-App
Can anyone post the link to that KB article about the permissions? I tried searching for it and couldn’t find it. I want to put together a post for my tech.
Thanks.
