Limited Deployment Of OS Patch Management Enhancements Has Started!

I dont think so

I had to disable the policy to stop it - we received a ton of tickets after this update was applied, and its definitely from the update policy because it has our note about rebooting the machine (which was already disabled) but it did it anyway - and it did it multiple times per PC.

We had this issue last year I believe where the windows update poilicy syncro had was randomly rebooting PCs in the middle of the day…

I would think that most people wouldn’t have a reboot message if they weren’t rebooting, so I’m wondering if that was some kind of bug that triggered the reboot. Do you also have the reboot by filled in? That would also normally be blank when Do Not Reboot is selected.

Also, I would have checked the Effective Policy on one of the machines rebooting to see what it showed under the updates section to see if it was seeing the old reboot option you used to have set.

Yea mine applied just fine with no reboot issues either. I would definitely hit up Support and have them review logs to determine what might have happened.

Yeah I’m going to get with support on just to see what happened.

I had a user report that every 20 minutes, they received the reboot message for windows update, 4 times in a row (others, it seemed to be 3 times and it stopped).

Odd behavior but it was definitely a bug or some such with the update - it affected way to many machines. I ended up having to just delete the policy outright and then it went away.

If I find out what happened I’ll update at some point but it seems no one else that has seen this post that this particular issue…

My phones were ringing off the hook today lol.

I hate when phones ring lol. I feel for you. I hope you get it figured out so it doesn’t happen to anyone else or to you again ha.

“you and all of your users will be receiving an in-app notification.”

Tech users or end-users?
This is a remarkably bad idea - please don’t pop stuff up at my end users. They will think some kind of squid-looking thing has hacked them, and they will call me.

Just don’t. Why would you anyway?

Users of your RMM platform, those that log in and manage devices.

Your Syncro users (licenses), not your customers.

@Andy What percentage of Syncro users have receive this update? I still don’t have the new patch management.

I can’t give strict percentages, but it’s not been fully rolled out across the board yet. It’s still coming, I promise :).
