Allow access to the Customer Portal from the tray icon

What it Does

Explains the steps needed for Customers to be able to access their Portal via the tray icon.

What it Doesn't Do

Enabling the Portal in Policies alone does not allow access to the Customer's Portal

 

Overview

For Customers to be able to open their Portal from the tray icon, there are some steps we need to take.

  1. Start by enabling the Portal in the Tray Icon Policy settings.
    Select Customer Online Portal
  2. Then make sure the asset has an Assigned Contact.
    Assign a Contact
  3. On the Customer Contact page, enable that Contact's user portal.
    Enable Portal User
  4. On the main Customer Page, enable them as a Portal User.
    Add Portal User
