Portal User required or not?

I cannot seem to get a consistent setting working. I don’t want to require users to have a portal login to pay invoices. I just want the links CC or Paypal to collect a payment. Support had this working by ensuring the user and account had portal disabled. I am beginning to understand the frustration of payment integrations.

If I MUST have portal logins for payment links to work, I would like that just to be stated.

Anyone have this running smooth?

A portal user is NOT required to pay invoices, IF you have NO portal users setup for that client.

However, if, like a few of my clients, you setup even 1 portal user (for example, to resell Remote Access), then a portal user IS required to pay online.

It’s cumbersome.
