Syncro’s built-in 3rd party patching works great, but is seriously lacking in terms of supported applications. It would be great to see a wider range of applications added to this list, or even a way for partners to more easily submit requests for applications to be added. It shouldn’t be this difficult to get new applications added since its built upon Chocolatey in the first place.
Yes, we can add custom applications right now ourselves, but it only allows for forced installs and not the “Update if present” option. This makes the custom applications only useful for applications we want on the bulk of the computers - we don’t want to create a custom patching policy for each individual machines specific application requirements, that is too much work.
Also - we shouldn’t need to manually create a custom application to support common software like Cisco Web Ex, Zoom, OneDrive, Teams, VPN clients, etc. Comparing Syncro’s list of supported applications with its competitors and its obvious that Syncro added the functionality at a bare minimum requirement and hasn’t updated it since.
